This essay is a study of ethics and morality in textbooks in religious education. The mainquestions in this essay is how ethics and morality are represented in the textbooks, what thebooks say about ethics and morality and, in some cases, what they don´t say about it. Toanswer these questions I have studied three textbooks in religios education and my methodwas content analysis and features of discourse analysis. Sammanfattning:Frågeställning: ? Hur formar ungdomar idag sina livsuppfattningar?? Hur formas unga idag till individer?? Hur går övergången från ungdom till vuxen idag till?Material och metod: Metoden är fenomenologiskt inspirerad och bygger på metoden i Reflective lifeworld research (2008). Zygmunt Bauman, Thomas Ziehe och författarna till boken Livsföring ? ett sociologiskt grundbegrepp (2007) har varit teoretiska utgångspunkter. Insamlingsmetod har främst varit ostrukturerade intervjuer och observation vid 6 olika fritidsgårdar i en mellanstor stad (totalt 17 intervjuer).

I vårt moderna samhälle är sättet vi organiserar intima relationer på föremål för offentlig diskussion och statt i förändring. Detta skriver Anthony Giddens om i boken Intimitetens omvandling (1992). På senare tid har en relationsform som kallas för relationsanarki (RA) vuxit fram. Mitt syfte är efter en kritisk läsning av Giddens undersöka relationen mellan hans teori och RA som praktik och erfarenhet. Som kontrast eller nyansering av Giddens tas också Zygmunt Bauman upp.

Detta är en kvalitativ och delvis kvantitativ studie med syftet att analysera konsumistiska tendenser i den amerikanska realityserien The Hills utifrån Zygmunt Baumans teorier om konsumtion och konsumism. Frågeställningen lyder: manifesteras en konsumistisk livsstil i The Hills och i så fall hur? Av de drygt 100 avsnitt som finns av The Hills valde vi 18 stycken, tre avsnitt per säsong, att analysera. Analysmetoden inspireras av bland annat Susanna Hornig Priests bok Doing media research: an introduction om kvalitativ innehållsanalys och vi har sedan använt oss av delar från de olika teoriavsnitten. I vår kvantitativa analys har vi använt oss av en tabell som visar hur många minuter och sekunder per avsnitt som spenderas i en viss miljö. I slutdiskussionen diskuterar vi fritt kring The Hills och hur konsumtion och konsumism yttrar sig i serien.

SammanfattningDagens elever är mer intresserade av livsfrågor än religion. Religionskunskap har gått från att vara ett ämne där elever enbart studerade kristendom, till att vara ett ämne där olika religioner och livsåskådningar studeras bland annat till syfte att hjälpa eleven att forma en personlig livssyn. Studien är gjord utifrån arbeten om religiösa rörelser av elever i årskurs 8 i ämnet religionskunskap, och syftar till att ta reda på hur elever bygger upp sina ståndpunkter kring religiösa rörelser i skoltexter, vilka uttryck de använder och med vilken mening. Resultatet studeras genom Zygmunt Baumans glasögon om det individualiserade samhället. Vid studien av de arbeten eleverna gjort är att det som inte bidrar till egen vinning inte är intressant. Det som man heller inte har kontroll på tilltalar inte heller eleverna och det uttrycks som läskigt, konstigt och hemligt.Svaren eleverna angivit kan användas som en ingång för läraren när denna skall forma sin undervisning vid studier av religiösa rörelser.  .

This case study examines the new media presentation system in Alby public library. The aim is to explore if the contemporary Zeitgeist, wich according to the sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, could be described as liquid modernity, has affected how the system was formed. The purpose is to find out how that would affect users and staff of public libaries of the contemporary. Interviews were conducted with the library staff, and plans and documents concerning the media presentation system was examined.The empirical part of this thesis starts with a study of the process that resulted in the new presentation system while the second part examines the system as such. I discovered that both the media presentation system, and the process which preceded it, contained aspects that could be traced to liquid modernity.

The purpose of this study is to show what melancholy and irony in my poems express and what techniques that are used to accomplish these effects. Many theorists, among them Sigmund Freud and Julia Kristeva, characterize melancholy as an experience of loss, and therefore one of my questions is what kind of losses appear in my poetry. In search for an answer I analyze the texts from both a psychoanalytic and a sociological point of view. In the latter perspective I discuss the postmodern society using concepts from contemporary thinkers like Zygmunt Bauman, Fredric Jameson and Jean Baudrillard. Finally, I also examine if melancholy has an influence on the form of the poems.

In Shop! Daniel Svensson is studying the Public Consume Conversation during the 90´s. Focus is based on two local papers in the Swedish town Norrköping and the Public Media Conversation, which these two represent. What kind of discourses has been dominating this conversation, that is the most important question in Shop! To answer this, Daniel Svensson uses the Critical Discourse Analysis, by Norman Fairclough, as an analytic tool. This method provides him with the possibility to connect the micro level of text with the macro level of the society. But this demands theories of the contemporary society at a macro level.

This essay examines two modern retellings of the classic fairy tale of Snow White and the seven dwarfs in the version of the brothers Grimm. By analyzing the differences in the modern version to the more original one my aim is to be able to see how these objects of popular culture are affected by the type of society they are created within.In my two-step analysis I have first used the theory of narratology to find what changes had been made in the two retellings. Here I have the help of several key concepts of the theorists Vladimir Propp, Gérard Genette and David Bordwell. The narrative differences, which turned out to concern the characters mostly, I have then sought to explain in the light of the sociological theories of Zygmunt Bauman regarding liquid modernity and liquid fears..

Young people of today have a much wider access to information on sex and relationships, and they receive this information from a variety of different sources. This information can sometimes paint a diverse and inconsistent picture. School constitutes one of these sources, and one of the few places were young people can discuss and reflect on these issues together with their peers as well as adults. The purpose of this essay is to gain insight on what adolescents between the age of 15 to 18 think about sex and relationships and their thoughts about sex education in school. It?s a qualitative study based on discussions with adolescents divided in four focus groups, two groups of girls and two groups of boys.

Syftet med studien är att ur ett elevperspektiv få en uppfattning om hur ungdomarna ser på konsumtion och konsumtionsvanor i förhållande till ett hållbart samhälle.Teoretiska utgångspunkter grundar sig bland annat utifrån konsumtionssamhället enligt professor Zygmunt Bauman och konsumtionssamhällets drivkrafter enligt professor Mats Alvesson.Metoden som använts i studien är fokusgruppsintervjuer där fakta samlats in med hjälp av diktafon och videokamera.Resultatredovisningen består utav ungdomarnas yttrande och kommentarer samt analys och tolkning utifrån dessa.Ungdomarna som är uppvuxna i ett informations- och konsumtionssamhälle verkar vara medvetna när det gäller sin påverkanskraft mot ett hållbart samhälle genom sin konsumtion, såväl kortsiktigt som långsiktigt, lokalt som globalt. Skillnad mellan könen visade sig vara en faktor som framkom i studien när det gäller engagemang och vilja till förändring mot ett mer hållbart samhälle.  .

I studien kommer jag analysera skillnaden mellan norm och praxis i implementerandet av Genevekonventionen från 1929. Genom en fallstudie av två västerländska, demokratiska stater med samma norm, det vill säga 1929 års Genèvekonvention vill jag studera deras behandling, det vill säga praxis, av tyska krigsfångar från den 11 maj 1942 fram till Västtysklands grundande, den 23 maj 1949.Metoden jag har använt mig av i mitt arbete är en kvalitativ fallstudie, med utgångspunkt i tidigare intervjuer, rapporter och litteratur. I fallstudien kommer behandlingen av de tyska krigsfångarna att undersökas för att se hur Frankrike och USA implementerade Genèvekonventionen i praktiken.Därefter kommer resultatet att analyseras med hjälp av Zygmunt Baumans teorier. Bauman är en professor i sociologi som analyserat sambandet mellan moderniteten och förintelsen. Dessa teorier kommer att användas för att förklara och redogöra de bakomliggande orsakerna till varför det uppstår en skillnad mellan norm och praxis hos upplysta och demokratiska stater, när dessa stater ska implementera folkrätten vid behandlingen av krigsfångar.Bauman menar att västerlandet sen upplysningen har haft en stark strävan efter att uppnå rutiner och ett slags beteendemönster.
